Live Audio Recording

Record coaching sessions live directly within Ovida

What’s new

You can now record coaching sessions live directly within Ovida — no need to record externally and upload a file afterwards. Live audio recording captures the session in real time and automatically processes it for transcription when the call ends.

How it works

  1. Click on New Meeting

  1. Click on Live Recording

3. Before starting a live recording, you’ll need to enter the participant’s email address and select the relevant team.

4. Once entered, you can begin the recording. The session audio is captured and uploaded securely as it progresses.

When the recording is finished, click Finish to complete the upload. Ovida will then automatically stitch the audio together and begin transcribing — following the same process as uploaded audio files.

Participant notification

When you start a live recording, the participant will automatically receive an email notification informing them that the recording has begun. This email includes a customisable consent message, which can be configured in your organisation settings.

If you close your browser mid-recording

If you accidentally close your browser tab during a live recording, don’t worry — the session will not be lost. Ovida will detect the interruption and send you an in-app notification and email with a link to return to the in-progress recording.

If no activity is detected for 15 minutes, Ovida will automatically finalise the recording and begin processing it.

Organisation settings

Admins can manage live recording behaviour in Organisation Settings:

  • Enable live recording — turn live audio recording on or off for your organisation (enabled by default)

  • Custom consent message — customise the consent message sent to participants via email when a recording starts

Current limitations

Please note the following limitations in this initial release:

  • Live audio recording currently supports a single participant (host + one guest)

  • Transcript generation follows the same flow as uploaded audio sessions

  • The in-progress recording will be visible in the app so you can return to it if needed
